Inspecting a Fall-Arrest Harness Before Every Use
A full-body harness only protects the person wearing it if it is fit for use. Here is the pre-use inspection routine we teach on every working-at-height programme.

The advanced level of the fall protection cascade, aimed at the people who plan height work and supervise it rather than only perform it.
The advanced level of Eduforce's fall protection cascade is for the managers, supervisors and contractors who plan height work and are responsible for the people doing it. Many of the decisions that make a fall survivable, from the system and anchor to the clearance below and the rescue arrangements, are taken before anyone leaves the ground.
Supervision also decides whether equipment checks really happen. Whether harnesses get inspected on a site is rarely a question of knowledge; it depends on whether inspection is treated as part of the job, and that standard is set by the people in charge.
